I was surprised to look out the window and see a Northern Flicker on the tray feeder this afternoon.
Although they are here year-round, they aren't as common as in summer because their primary food is ants.

Wow, great shot - don't think I've ever had on at the feeder. And the Cardinal doesn't seem to mind. Looks like the Mourning Dove has made you.

Busy feeder, always a pleasure! The flickers only very, very rarely stay around here in the winter, but it sounds like a few are regular overwinterers in your area!
