Shu, I certainly do hope that we'll be able to go out shooting someday. Right now I'm really feeling the need for a photo buddy, as my husband and friends really don't understand this compulsion I have to be spending so much time (often with so little to show) on photography. I'm glad your grandson has shown an interest. What a wonderful way for the two of you to develop a special bond!

Hi Mary Anne--

I thought I would give up photography since the equipment became just too difficult to carry around and I also became overwhelmed with such a steep learning curve that I put the camera down for many months. Since my grandson has now developed an interest in photography and was given a wonderful new Canon Rebel for graduation, my love of photography has been sparked. I don't know if I will continue to pursue it, however. I thank you for your concern and since we are neighbors (ct & mass), I hope to see you and Sharon one day. The cslr challenges has brought me much happiness in my older years and I continue to admire many of you on the site.

Thank you, Pops and Shu. Shu, you haven't been around much recently. Hope all is well.

Beautiful low-key image!! The lighting on the stone and shoes is perfect and the shadows that are cast make the composition exceptional! shu

Carole, I haven't made any changes (yet!), but I think laptop screens are notorious for the variations of light and color they give. Still, I'm glad you found this more dramatic looking today.

I don't know if you darkened this Mary Anne or my laptop screen is tilted differently when I'm looking at it, but it looks more dramatic today! :-D CJ

I like this, MA. At first I thought they were wooden clogs (the Holland kind)... then I saw the grass and realized the story of the image. I like it. ~Lydia

This is a very nice image May Anne with great composition and directional lighting and might be even more dramatic if the midtones were darkened up a little to emphasize the lighting on the shoes and make it contrast more with the bricks and shadows. Good shot! :-) CJ
