You know, I've tried lightening the background in this and other photos, and I think they just end up looking foggy or overexposed. To my understanding, that's not high key. Like most of us, I'm still trying to figure out exactly what high key is.

I would like to see that as well... ie: lighten the background until it has just enough contrast to be visible.
It is a nice take on this theme but edges a bit too close to a 'normal image' just a little over exposed? But that's just me scratching my head... and trying to become a little wiser...lol
I wonder if this would work better if you took this a step further and really lightened up the water and maybe the sky as well so that the whole thing became very pastel and sort of other worldly? It's a wonderful image and might be fun to play with. ~Sharon
