As a matter of fact I was checking out how shallow a DOF my then new 50mm lens could get me at f1.8. I, for myself, like the other person's head being unsharp so your attention is drawn to the protagonist (it takes a moment, indeed, to figure the whole "set" out, does it not?). How much, though, may be a matter of taste... Thanks for your kind comment, Melbob! -- db.

Suprisingly shallow DOF here Daniel. Another good capture and 'candid' expression. My personal preference tends toward the other two images simply because this shallow DOF softens the composition a little too much. ~ Regards Melbob
