By front I mean the lower left flower. - RK

Very nice, like the lighting here...if the front flower was oof it would have more impact for the topic (I think).

To continue -maybe the issue here is whether or not the three layers are distinct enough. Are these three flowers different enough from each other to be called three different layers or is this really just a picture of three flowers?
Ha ha ha.... now I've confused myself.

Thanks Penny! Yes, these are 3 different flowers.

Simple and elegant and I vote yes for layered, after giving this some thought. Not that I am anything but a relative beginner in the photography despartment but, visually, you can't argue the fact that this presents a display of three flowers at three different distances. I'm assuming that this is three different flowers, but I guess that doesn't really matter.
I love the composition.

Hi Nico!

The layers of flowers and leaves plus the DOF treatment should qualify this image as layered. However, if you are looking for different elements for the foreground, middle and backgrounds, then this image doesn't hit the mark.

It's your challenge so I leave it up to you. I won't be offended if you disqualify it.

Would love to here from other participants as well.

Thanks.

Dear Raul, I could not agree more with Lydia: What a stunning image! Wow!

Since I also have to think whether it meets the Challenge Topic, I would also like to venture a comment on that front. As a matter of fact, I will probably repeat verbatim what I wrote to "davev" on his "Bleeding Hearts" image in the Exhibition Gallery, namely

... if I was writing a book on photography and wanted to use a picture to demonstrate excellence in composition, lighting, floral close-ups or topics like that... I would include this without a moment's hesitation. However, when I get to the chapter on layered composition and I want the reader to see an example with strong fore/middle/backgrounds, I will probably search for something different..."

Having said this, I have no doubt your three flowers are on different distances from the camera and the picture has a nice sense of depth.

I would be so pleased to hear from other participants and also from you. As I have not written a billion times here, "I am no expert either!"

Thanks again for posting a really beautiful photograph. Regards Nico
