When I was a kid I used to enjoy imitating a coot call using a blade of grass. The blade of grass is held between the two thumbs, held tight by the joints. I suppose your anatomy has to be just right, because when held properly, there must be a space between the joints. Anyway, holding the blade of grass this way, just blow hard between the thumbs. Sounds just like a coot. -- Victor
