Oh, and those "clouds" are reflections of the ambient light sources lighting the potato, in bokeh. The moire on the right side is an accident. I didn't even notice it until a few minutes ago. -- Victor

I can't tell if the question is serious or not, so I assume it is. I was hoping it would be clear what comprises the background. It's my TV set acquiring no signal. On the bottom, you can see a horizontal line that separates the two interlaced scan lines. -- Victor

P.S. I simulated the situation after losing analog signals by switching the TV to a station we don't get here. My TV set switches to blue screen when it doesn't pick up a signal.

This is brilliant Victor... I read your post and this all makes sense.

Did you shoot this 'TV Technician' (... lol) on a sheet of 'stipple' glass? ... I see the pattern and I guess the filtered/dispersal effect on the clouds?
