I WANT THAT CAMERA STRAP!!!

My nephew DJ. I shot this with my new Gary Fong Light Diffuser on my Canon Speedlite 580EX II. Pretty decent combination so far. Nothing was altered but the image size. Unfortunately, this image was not perfectly centered but it was pretty close. A little Photoshop editing and this one is now ready for prime time.

Canon EOS 350D ,Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
1/60s f/2.8 at 50.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thanks for all the great advice and comments on this one. The thing that struck me the most about this photo is that the subject was uncontrollable (as most 6 month old babies are uncontrollable). We were watching him for a few hours and he was playing, crawling around etc... I got some other nice shots of that but this one popped out at me and said "I'm good enough for Challenge 114!" He started crawling towards me to investigate what all the flashing was about. I didn't even think this one would be in focus or too dark or something because he was practically in my lap when I snapped this. I LOVE when unexpected photos like this happen! It was fun having him over!

Now it is on the nose, Alan! :-) Post processing is not only allowed in these challenges but enjoyed. It does seem like doing anything in Photoshop will wipe out the exif data. One way around that is to upload your original with the data and then replace it with the processed image. PBase will retain the exif data for the second image. ~Sharon

Good job. The eyes have it for sure.

An adorable child and a priceless expression, Alan. You're not cheating... I change mine several times if necessary. We're here to learn... it's not a strict environment. I'm glad you're here. ~Lydia

OK I figured out how to replace the original photo with the slightly cropped photo (Ya learn something new everyday) so this is the cropped, centered version. In a way I feel like I am cheating a bit.

I did crop it in Photoshop but when I saved the cropped version I lost all of the EXIF data for some strange reason. If I need to I will crop it and re upload it and add the data myself. Thanks for the comment.

This is really sweet, Alan! With a little post processing it could be extra special. A slight crop would make it centered if Vikas thinks it is not centered enough. ~Sharon
