Once I had an image of the 'nut opener' I wanted to use, I looked at the shape of it, and tried to position my hands on the railing in positions that would conform to that shape. --mlynn

Thanks for the inside scoop Melanie. One more question, how did you get her fingers, the right hand particularly, so nicely coped around the curved bits? - Kelly

As an added note: there is only sky in the background, because I placed the nutcracker on my deck railing and shot from below it slightly--to minimize background clutter like trees and hills...etc. The person was shot in the same general location (but not on the railing of course :)). --Melanie

Thank you Yuvraj, Trav, Nico, Bob, and Kelly, for your very kind comments. Trav, you're too kind; and yes, we do get a fair amount of blue skies--though the clouds kept obscuring the sun, so I had to wait for the right moments to shoot. Kelly, the sky is actually as it was, and is part of the same image with the gloved hand and the nut-cracker. There are only 2 images making up this composite, and both were taken outside in the same spot within a couple of hours of each other. --Melanie

Great Scott Bob! That was classified and the video was destroyed so you have no proof! LOL

Nicely done mlynn and consistently lit in photos A and B, though the sky's a tougher call - it all works; well done! - Kelly

Ouch.... that hurts ... great PS job Melanie and excellent creative composition.

What an interesting name for a fairly obvious machine... for the purpose of....!

But I guess somebody might think it is a finger torture machine?

Terrific ~ Regards Melbob

Oh, wonderfully done... the gloved hand also instantly reminded me of Michael Puff. Well done. Regards Nico

I still like Daisey, but what the heck...you are having very blue skys aren't you? Ahhh, and the glove, Michael-like, but in an elegant lady-like way? As was Daisey if we think about it.

Be that as it may, this is no way to cure your headaches....lol

You remain one of the best.
