Absolutely stunning I must say, beautiful shot. I hv been trying to get someone to loan me their baby for a few years now to do a series of shots but...... no luck so far. Guess I will just have to have one of my own to do shots like this :-)

Cheers, Vikas.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Nothing was done to the background...just jpg artifacts I guess. It didn't show up in printing. Thanks so much for noticing that I am improving. I have been going to a college lighting class and I did this there. I have a wonderful and patient instructor. Melbob, funny about the wings, as I do have a wings image with this baby. Maybe next challenge.

What a great photograph! Excellent setup and composition - not to mention idea! I really notice a great development in your photography, Debbi, and only wish I had made simillar progress myself. But how can I, if I don't pick up my camera, push the envenlope and practice, practice, practice? Did you smoothen the background some in post-processing? I see some posterization in the gradient - could be due to jpg compression too I guess. To alleviate, I would add some slight noise to the background...

How cute is this little person. (.. safer that way... ;-)) Very clever how the wings have been folded so there is no trace of them?

This is unfair Debbi... you know what they say about following children and... etc
Certainly is high impact, absolutely delightful.

Just wonderful. Beautiful. And, no, I don't want one. Been there done that. ;-) Ann

Awwww... I want one! *smile* Beautiful. Peaceful. Awesome in perfection. I agree with Lonnit's tip... but I would be happy to have this of my child. ~lydia

OH! How adorably sweet! One little nit, though... I would have preferred a slightly higher camera elevation, so as the edge of the platform did not cut off all that is in contact with the platform itself. I bet the parents LOVE it!!!! So beautiful! ~ Lonnit
