Thank you all for such a positive response. I'm glad that I posted this one, I was wondering whether this one will qualify with such a high key shot.
Bob, further proof that you are taking lessons from Traveller. You are playing magic with words again :) I am not sure what its actually called, but I refer to those shapes as "cup" and opposite to that as "cap" and "bell" etc.
Trav, Getting the blue coloration is a simple trick of white balance, use lower WB than the lighting conditions and you'll get blue.
Debbi, its not much in here that is done, but I'll give a brief how-to after the challenge, if you insist.

I have been asked about the lighting on this one, so I'll answer it here: It's shot outdoors in open shade against a white wall with a single on camera flash and WB set to 5000K (i think), the exif shows WB as "manual". No filters or diffusers used.

Further proof Cat! I have to use that "stunning" word again.
Excellent pose, beautiful tones and detail where it has maximum effect... and those eyes are gorgeous.

The histogram shows the "culvert' (I don't know what the proper adjective is ?) shape pretty much in the extreme (1,1,1 and 254,254,254) with some detail between. Just exactly what I had in mind. Fantastic post Cat. ~ Regards Melbob
