OH! Now THAT is so much more comfortable to look at. I'd switch immediately. :) ~ Lonnit

Right! T3 has more non facial OOF and sharpening to the eyes which become "bug eyed" if I apply any more sharpening. -mcbit

Definitely improved, but you can go more. Although you've blurred her non-facially, it's still not quite as OOF as her face. I'd go a bit stronger on the non-facial blur, and then I bet you could sharpen up the eyes a tad. It's coming along! :) ~ Lonnit

OK Lonnit, this time I've given it a good dose of the PS "subtlety brush" and posted as T2 :) -mcbit

That's because you blurred the whole thing, which made the face totally OOF. Layer that one over this and then mask out the face so it gets none of the additional blur. :) ~ Lonnit

Point taken, I've posted a softer version in pending but I don't think it has the appeal of this one. -mcbit

A lovely capture, albeit a bit of focusing error. The sharpest part of the image is the necklace. If this is an ad for that necklace, fine, because all our attention is drawn right to it. For a portrait though, the eyes must be the point of greatest focus. You could fix this by adding some blur to the sharper parts to make them less focused than the face and eyes, and you'll end up with a nice soft-focus image. :) ~ Lonnit

Nice portrait Gerry, pretty model with a relaxed pose and high contrast without being extreme.

I like the shine in the hair and the little sparkle highlights this has. I wonder if the little sparkle highlight from her teeth though, might not be better cloned out?

I would be guided by some of our participants who are brilliant portrait photographers who would be better judges than myself, but to me it does tend to draw attention but to what?

Beautiful post Gerry ~ Regards Melbob
