Very dramatic image that captures one's attention. I love the mystery here with those shadows and deep contrasts.
You have the full range of luminance here Ann from 0,0,0 in some of those shadows to the left and a patch of 255, 255, 255 on the path near the base of the tree. Between these extremes you have lots of detail which I like.
