Thanks, Pops, CJ and Lonnit. Most kind of you. Regards jnconradie

Hardly a cat picture, Pops! LOL! ;) Lovely image. I wouldn't mind a slight crop off the top to raise his eyes in the frame. I do like the background though. Good work! ~ Lonnit

Well done Nico! I hope to be able to get a great lion shot like this some day. CJ

Generally I don't like cat pictures. This one is cool. Great choice for B&W with the slightly warm tones.

Thanks, everyone, for the kind comments and also the constructive feedback - always appreciated.

Jim, no need to spoil your image of life in Africa over this one: it was shot on a game ranch, not a zoo. :-)

Regards jnconradie

Such a magnificent subject and an excellent photo that does it justice. Was he in your back yard or was this on a safari? Please dont tell me it was a zoo- since you live in Africa, I have such romantic images of your life and I dont want to spoil it.

Nice portrait, but background blur is a bit disturbing, IMHO.

Great shot of an incredible subject!! You can hardly miss shooting pix of guys like this. I like the tint, as well. The monotone suits this scene well, seems to me. Cheers, -mikey

Regal indeed! A commanding sense of presence...I'm just not much of a sepia guy. However, Nico, you seem to continue to explore PP possibilities, and that's always good.

Best Wishes, Traveller
