Like others I was super impressed with the compositing skills. Now that I know I'm no less impressed with the quality of the photo, I love them both! Now that you've given the secret away when I'm in SF next year this will be a place to visit - with camera.
Congratulations, Michael, on capturing this amazing "art" so skillfully.
I am so pleased that I read your commentary here first, prior to commenting on the previous post. I was just about to launch into a song and dance about... Mr Puff taking composites to a whole new level... or something along such lines. :-) :-)
But even without those statements, you are indeed a gifted artist and these both show how excellent you are without any need for major PS at all. Well done! Regards jnconradie

Hey Traveller. Well, I didn't have to do the shadows, the morning sun did them for me. This is a real building at the corner of 6th & Howard in San Francisco. No composite work here, simple raw conversion to b&w, curves, dodge/burn, etc. The Defenestration Project was created by Brian Goggin in 1997 and still partially stands. #1 was taken on the shade side of the building and this one was taken on the sunny side of the building (the shadows were wonderful). I wanted to try two completely different views of the building...still haven't decided which I like best. Perhaps both have their place. -Michael
Interestingly, this image has twice the view of the other so far....but I myself pretty strongly prefer No. 1. Maybe it is the shadows that people are finding more attractive?
Hummmm....BTW, how DID you do the Shadows? Best Wishes, Traveller
