Nico, the long boots are "waders", come up to the chest, and are worn with suspenders. They are usually worn when wading into lakes or streams while fishing but also to keep warm and dry when putting the dock out every spring and bringing it back in, in the fall. The shorter boots are just for mucking about. If the boots are not hung up to dry completely, they may mold inside, so here they hang in the basement of the cabin!
