Jeannie, I laughed all the way through your story! I'm smiling so hard my face hurts! That's soooo funny! BTW, you just have to make her a little mini-print of your shot to hang in Barbie's house! ~ Lonnit

Thanks everyone for the comments!!

My youngest daughter turned 4 this week & the 3-story Barbie house was her present. As she pulled out all her dolls, shoes, clothes, etc. & got down to playing, I just kept looking at the shutter doors & lamp. Hmmm, they reminded me of something. :) I could hardly wait for bedtime (my kiddos, of course). My daughter asked me if the doll house was going to go into her bedroom. I told her later -- it should stay out in the middle of the living room for a few days. he he he My husband had no idea what I was talking about until I got out the camera & started shooting. He knows I'm a lost cause!!

Anyhow Lonnit, I'm so glad that you took this Ode in the context it was meant -- a compliment!! After I posted it, I was hoping you wouldn't think negatively of the comparison. I laughed after I read your comment -- little girls thinking you are the real Barbie. That does make this Ode even more "true to life" as it were. ;)

Glad everyone has been enjoying this shot. FYI, my 4 year old has picked this one as her favorite in the gallery. I just can't imagine why... :)

Jeannie, this is a really cool gift to us all. It puts a big smile on my face each time I see it. I do a great deal of miniature photography and it's much harder than it looks. I applaud how nicely you handled this scene. -Michael

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh, Jeannie, that is sooooo funny! I thought, from the thumb, that it was a real person, until I opened it and laughed that it was Barbie. I didn't catch the title until after I read the comments, and laughed again at Vikas's comment, thinking, "Yup, that's soo me!". I didn't catch the caption, until just now, and it made me laugh yet again!

What makes this particularly funny for me, is that little girls seem to think I'm some sort of life-sized Barbie! LOL! I'll be out somewhere, and a parent will come by with their 3-6 year old girl in tow, and the girl will inevitably catch site of me and stop dead in her tracks. She'll stare, wide-eyed, jaw slightly dropped, and slowly eye me from toe to head. It's always the funniest and cutest thing to watch, the disbelief and wonder in their expressions. So, this is such an oh-so-fitting and much appreciated ode. You are absolutely adorable for doing this! Thank you!!

BTW, the pinks are just fine, even though my room is red and my lamp is green - just about the same green that's in between the slats of the doors.

DOF on this is perfect. :) Thanks again! ~ Lonnit

Thanks, Pops! I know the lamp should be red, but Barbie pink was the only option I had. :) -- Jeannie
