LoL...Why not a Piano, Victor? I Can well understand why you might think that. Further, this opens up new title possibilities...Midnight Sonata...Yes, I like it! (grin)

Rich and deep colors, some mysterious stranger at a piano...music waifing off into the midnight darkness and then...it's gone, it stops....he is gone.

The piano silent.

**********

If the uncertainty of the captured image lends itself to such varied interpretations...maybe that is to the good and the image is better for it.

Best Wishes, Traveller

At first glance, I thought that was a piano. -- Victor

Nico, this is a new Captain's Desk that I've just assembled and placed in my bedroom. For all the trouble of putting the damned thing together, I am very happy with it.

The image was supposed to be me studying at the desk by candle light, but, I have also placed on the desk a small rotating multi-colored light that you can put a crystal on...its only purpose is that it is pretty. In the image it seems to add a sense of the surreal...like a shinning brain off to the side, or, as you note, maybe a found treasure.

I have one version where the bottom of the crystal is rounder, enhanced with the clone tool...but I tend to like to photograph what is there....the momentary actuality of, "Is," if you like. In another I have it floating in the upper right corner....but both were cheating against what was actually there at that moment when the shutter was pressed.

So, the straight version....with admitted ambiguity is what was posted. The image seems to have more mystery than I intended and the act of studying seems less sure that what I intended.

But at some level I surely love this image.

A less successful version is placed in Pending, here:

You can't do this to me/us, Traveller! Explanations, please! :-) Who? What? Where? Looks like a someone (you?) who discovered a secret treasure... very interesting. Compliments and regards on a great photograph. Regards jnconradie
