Nico, according to the histogram, there should not be any problem with the highlights; nevertheless, on my (uncalibrated) monitor I get the same impression as you describe. Strange. Tried to fix it but could not find a compromise that was really worth to upload another version. Probably I should have used natural light instead of flash. - Gerald

I like this very much. The shaded color of the background sets off the petals quite nicely. Colors are soft and beautiful and the title just drves home the feelings one gets when viewing this. Well done.
I can only think of "touching" to describe this one, GeraldH. The composition and the shadow itself add interest and the broken petal really does convey an emotion. Well done! Could most definitely be used for a book with that title.
I did not download the image to check the histogram, so it could just be my monitor, but the whites on the central piece might be a touch too brightly lit? Not sure, though.
Sorry, I also wanted to add that I like the darker gradient towars the right. I think it helps to guide the viewer's eyes to where you wanted! Well done. Regards jnconradie
