The Unseen Throne

Pease Park, Austin, TX

This was a difficult shot to get. I didn't want to look like I was trying to get shots inside the porta-potties. But I really wanted a shot like this for the challenge. Then, I saw this dog. The perfect opportunity. I was obviously taking a picture of the dog. Fortunately, also, people waiting to go tend to keep a certain distance away from the porta-potties. It's kind of humorous, actually, if you ask me. The trick then was to capture the moment when all the doors were shut. I think this turned out really well, if I say so myself. I think the dog makes the picture.

Yep, this was at Eeyore's birthday party. I didn't use any of these porta-potties. I've learned how to match my water intake with my sweating so that I don't need to. Of course, most of the tennants had probably been imbibing something other than water. Amazingly, although there were many dogs, I didn't see a single one doing their business (except for one annointing someone's bicycle tied to a tree -- he missed the bike). -- Victor

I can just imagine what that dog is thinking.... "Well...thanks a lot... sheesh already!"

Great shot Victor... cannot imagine what people waiting were thinking?

I guess that was at the birthday party? I enjoyed your gallery and did some googling to find out what that was all about. Thanks for posting that link. ~ Regards Melbob

Victor, you are on a roll! The composition/point of view on the porta-potties is fantastic...it creates a great vertical pattern and the hinges create a flowing horizontal pattern leading through the image. The dog with leash is simply brilliant...I too think this turned out really well. -Michael
