Lots of lovely wood, and plenty of space, it would make a great studio! I wonder with what camera this photograph was taken?

Thanks for sharing Pops, Regards Melbob

Thanks, Pops, for the background on this image. It is a wonderful house and a treat to have it included in the gallery. -Michael

What a beautiful home you grew up in. That plant in the middle of the picture is so typical. We had one of those too, and a piano. An old beauty, but a wooden framework. Went "sour" only hours after tuning. I was literally weeping my way through each rehearsal. One day my dad had had enough, and went and bought a new one. "And you better play it!". I took lessons for 5 years, but at around age 12 I got curious about jazz. My piano teacher wouldn't hear of it. And that was the end of that relationship, welcome adolescence. CDs do sound a lot better anyway ;)

Michael, TAFKAP (The Artist Formerly Known As Pops) is just an alter ego! It's me.

This picture is probably from 1951. That was the year my father built this house and we (I've got six brothers and sisters) moved in. That's his portrait hanging on the wall. I grew up in this house until I went to college and got married. It was a fabulous house. There are many fond memories there.

K2 - You're very observant. It's a baby grand. I never got lessons because I have no sense of rhythm. The only thing I can play is a CD.

I know who this is ;) Not exactly a newcomer. A stylish reminder of that era. Looks closer to 1960 to me, but I'm in Europe - adapting fashions probably lagged a little here at the time. Is that the corner of a grand piano to the left?

This is quite extraordinary. TAFKAP, are you new to the challenges? Welcome aboard. This is a fabulous period piece and a dynamic composition. Can you tell me more about it? -Michael
