Oops!

There is a significant hue shift in this photograph.

It was blue, now it's red!

It was blue and then red, now it's green, perhaps in honour of St. Patrick's Day

It was blue, red and green and now it's black and white.

Before the challenge is over I may have added a rainbow, but it will end up blue for the voting. Besides, blue is my favourite colour.

Who am I?

And now the actual real color. For those who know, this may be a clue to my identity.

Here's what we've seen so far:

Friday the cable company, as they upgraded their cables, hit the water main and brought forth a torrent of water.

Blue for the rest of the challenge!

This is the most colorful "water main break" I have seen in a while, TAFKAP!
It almost makes me believe that this is a good thing and should happen more often ;)

Still laughing here.. and.. TAFKAP...formerly known as Pops lol... you're funny :) And interesting.. it was exciting to follow the transition here. Thanks for the show.
(And.. should you happen to change your mind about the hue shift in this particular image, quickest remedy would be: duplicate layer, blur->average, blend mode: hue. But I like some cast... adds credability.)

LOL! Kiki_2, I'm so glad you have a sense of humor! - TAFKAP
jbhgmvo28-Mar-2007 20:19
It IS yours, Pops!!! What a sneaky guy YOU are!! ROFL.. I'll wash the floor with myself - it's well deserved.

And I don't think I'll lecture you on colorcasts.......
Took my time didn't I...
jbhgmvo28-Mar-2007 15:24
Pops? Pops?.. Are you there?
jbhgmvo28-Mar-2007 14:07
Pops: No.. it wouldn't be typical at least. You see things differently. And you write "color", not "colour". And I don't think you would have uttered second thoughts about the hue shift... yet. You had the terrific "Pumpkins" image in the Blue challenge. The colors of the brick walls around those pumpkins were a dead giveaway to color manipulation...they didn't match the rest of the image. Yet.. you didn't crop.. nor comment. So nope, this is not yours ;) "Am I right or am I right?"

I like the blue version the best. Blue is my favorite color too! Hey, Kiki_2, does that mean this is my picture?
Canon DSLR Challenge27-Mar-2007 22:15
So Cat was right then. Nice series. As to who you are... will be interesting to find out. You have shown great pedagogic skills and kept the class' attention. I was about to suggest some industrial juice blender, same track Victor was on earlyer: If you do a brutal 40% saturation boost on the current brownish version, it looks like orange juice! :)

Friday the cable company, as they upgraded their cables, hit the water main and brought forth a torrent of water. Hence the title, "Oops!" - X

I'm glad I didn't step in it!.... looks like a hosed dog!... and it sure wasn't me... Melbob!
Canon DSLR Challenge27-Mar-2007 08:21
Its not 'chunder' cos it aint got carrots in it?
jnconradie26-Mar-2007 19:02
Hi kiki2, nope sorry to disappoint you, no "jnconradie" involved here - honestly. :-)
Apart from seeing what looks like rushing water, I have no clue - I promise! :-)
jbhgmvo26-Mar-2007 18:32
Thank you for the black and white version. jnconradie is the only one I know of here whose favourite color is blue. But there are more people than colors.. I'm 100% certain this isn't Travellers. He..ummm.. doesn't comment on color casts. (I've been meaning to talk to him about that.) So.. that only leaves around 40-50 other candidates.. Judging by the "colour", it's someone outside USA. Judging by playfullness.. could be MelBob.. .could still be jnconradie.. commenting to his own picture with full nickname to throw us off.. hmmmmmm... Pooff. There. My brain just short-circuited.

Cat says, "Situations like busted water mains comes to mind." Oh it is most difficult to get one past the Cat. - X
Guest 26-Mar-2007 14:40
Yes, its a flow of gushing red water... that's pretty much as far as we have come! I think the title may not have any relation to the photo itself. It might be X's personal experience while taking this photo. Situations like busted water mains comes to mind

I suspect that this challenger is telling us that color doesn't really matter. The color is there to confuse us. I like the direction Victor started us on. It seems to fluid. The title has me puzzled but I assume the only way we're going to understand is when we're told.

I love the colored variations! Fun.
jbhgmvo26-Mar-2007 09:34
I don't have any particular favorite color. Unless black, white and french grey qualifies lol. They wouldn't suit this picture.. the movement is too vital. It needs strong colors. Can't decide whether I like the blue or green version best. But red is out! Scary stuff.
elips26-Mar-2007 07:33
Yikes, this is a different color every time I look at it! No idea what sort of liquid flow it is but, so far, i like the green the best! ~Sharon
Canon DSLR Challenge26-Mar-2007 04:15
LOL...I guess I prefer the blue, but the red was interesting in a grusome way...I like the fact that you keep changing it....however, I must let you know that St. Patty's day is now past. Sorry...(grin) Best Wishes, Traveller

"Roadkill in bad weather." - Ouch. Perhaps you'll like the green better. I can bring this to you in any shade you want. What is your favourite colour?
Guest 26-Mar-2007 00:52
Nothing gets passed by this group of analysts :)
I would have attempted to guess where else would you have red colored gushing liquid, but after Victor's guess, I think I lost the chain of thought and flowing along with cranberry processing.... :) -Cat

Cranberry processing? -- Victor
jbhgmvo25-Mar-2007 19:18
Nice texture, and I don't understand what it is. I was thinking of both water and synthetic fur seeing both these versions, but the blue was *much* more appealing. In red, it suddenly looks like a roadkill in bad weather lol
Canon DSLR Challenge25-Mar-2007 19:02
As I stated there was a significant hue shift as originally posted. So I shifted the hue back toward normal and this is what I get. Does this help or confuse. Personally, blue is my favorite colour so I prefer the original.
jnconradie25-Mar-2007 18:34
Weird and wonderful and interesting. Is it a shadow of a person visible over some stream of water? But I am not sure at all where the title come from! Regards jnconradie
Canon DSLR Challenge25-Mar-2007 18:12
Looks like a fuzzy blue teddy bear or other critter to me! CJ
