Brandy

Jersey, C.I.

The mystery object was a glass of brandy during a party. There were lots of twinkle lights around that provided both the reflections in the brandy and the background bokeh. It was taken shortly after the bokeh challenge and shows how ideas from these wonderfull challenges take root and help us grow.

Here is a slightly different perspective:

The lower right is indeed just bokeh. - Anon

The lower right could just be bokeh, and if so, would give a hint as to scale. -- Victor

No ashtray and no cigar I'm afraid. No hot chocolate, but some of Victor's ideas are heading in the right direction regarding the upper left. - anon.

Second thoughts already :) It could be a silver ashtray, with an inlay or enameled surface inside.

Oh.... oh... I think I've got it! Is it an onyx ashtray? With... a cigar?

Very nice.. like a painting.. and yet very much like a photography. The "table" area pattern looks like respatex from the 70ties, but i bet that's wrong. The overall impression is very "modern". Nice blend between crisp clearness and subtle OOF shapes. Masterly done, whoever you are.

The lower right seems to be glinting reflections off a faceted object, so I was thinking the object at upper left was a faceted bowl, but that wouldn't explain the interesting patterns "inside" the bowl, whihc look like, perhaps reflections on water. Maybe the water's moving around an this is a time exposure. -- Victor

I am sure I am totally wrong, but at first I thought it might be part of mug of steaming hot chocolate, or something? :-) Regards jnconradie

Hello X, You did good by keeping the photo artist name empty. Now I am really clue less :) The thumbnail looked like a cookie, but after I open it, its totally totally different and fascinating! It has a metalic sheen and yet it has earth tones!! Very nicely done! -Cat
