Thanks, Cindy! Yes, I have a bunch of the Trinity Church reflection, it is irresistible! ~Sharon

Nice one! I recognized this instantly since my daughter goes to school in Boston, and I've been there several times and have also visited the library. I bet you took a shot of the Trinity Church reflected in this same building too :) Cindy

Thanks, Paul! For this shot I had just come out of the Boston Public Library and looked up and there it was! I remember leaning against the wall of the library to help me balance while I took this shot and a few others. No waiting necessary! ~Sharon

Sharon:

What an excellent photo. It sounds as if you looked up, saw, and clicked, or did you have to wait a while to get the clouds just right? I really must get back to Boston with my camera. The greatest thing about this photo is that it inspires me to look up and see with a new eye.

Thanks, Nico and Lonnit! I will see if I can punch it up without ruining it completely, lol! ~Sharon

By "punch" I mean a bit of brightening and then some more contrast. It's a tad dark, making it a bit dreary, when it should be a bit more lively. Really like it though! :) ~ Lonnit

Thanks, Sharon. And if one sees the outcomes from your preferred way of shooting... who would dare to complain or suggest anything different? :-)

Keep up the good work! Regards jnconradie

Hi, Nico! No offense was taken. The truth is I had my camera set for taking street pictures, saw this and pointed up! I, for years, used a point and shoot and iso400 slide film which saw me through most situations. It is hard to break the habit of higher isos even when I know I should be using the lowest one possible. I also tend to shoot every which way, at the sky one moment and the gutter the next. Don't believe those who tell you you can set the camera on manual, adjust the exposure and shoot away for the whole day. That doesn't work with the way I take pictures, shooting wildly in every direction! I have to adjust the exposure almost every shot and choosing a mid-range iso means I have less to adjust. Not very professional, I know, but I have a good time! ~Sharon

Hi Sharon, oops sorry... it was not meant to come across as "I think it is incorrect..". My assumption (quite possibly naively so!) is that I try to work with the lowest possible iso settings under the circumstances, obviously within the constraints of what aperture and shutter I think I need to use. So, when I looked at your EXIF info and saw 1/3200s and iso200, my own thinking was simply along the lines of: it could probably also have worked at iso100 with a slower shutter speed... possibly with the benefit of marginally less noise? But I hasten to add that I am really rather new at this game and it is highly possible that I am completely missing the point altogether. I would then of course love to learn from you and others so that I can myself use the best possible camera settings. Hope this puts my comment into perspective. And I trust no offense caused. Regards jnconradie

Thanks, Nico, anonymous, Julie and Lonnit! Nico, the iso200 was intentional. Can you tell me why you think it is an incorrect setting for this shot? Julie, I missed being here last month and am hoping to be around more in the future. I did notice that you had some wonderful shots in the last couple of challenges. Lonnit, by more punch do you mean more contrast? I am currently learning CS2 having finally gotten it after using PS4 for the last two years. It is like learning a totally different program but I am sure I could manage more contrast if that is what you meant. If you mean something else you may have to walk me through how to do it in CS2, lol! ~Sharon

Very nice. Could use a bit of punch, but very nice indeed! ~ Lonnit

Love how the building is not there but still definitely there. Wonderful capture.

Composition 12 out of 10. Stunning scene, with a really dramatic point-of-view. And the title is great, too. It is not that there is any noise there that bothers me, but I wondered whether the ISO200 was intentional? Or whether perhaps it happended to you as often happens to me that I turn this dial and then forget to change the setting when the lighting conditions change? :-) Just being curious. It really is a great capture! Regards jnconradie
