Color of Spring

Spring descended suddenly in the aviary today as the budgie hens fought viciously for the prized nestbox. The temporary winner displays her battle wounds between her unwounded, competing suitors.

The hens compete with sharp beaks and talons. Their suitors compete with love and affection.

The bird in the middle is sitting in the entrance to the nestbox (her tail is in the box). She's basking in her "victory". -- Victor

Hi Victor -- I really like the idea of your shot quite a bit... but the perspective is a little strange, only because it's difficult to get a handle on the bird in the middle.
