Very elegant. Amazing yellows too.

Love this photo. Concept and execution are both excellent. What are the chances of being able to find just the right shade of yellow shoe in a thrift store? You deserve my vote for that alone. Your lighting is also first-rate. The reflections on surface of the table add an extra touch of elegance.

Brilliant Michael, Just love this one; the colours are so wonderful and the matching with the Champagne bottle is just perfect. Love the reflections too.

Cheers, Vikas.

A fun image with lots of matching yellow! ~kt

What a great story Michael! There aren't many who would buy an expensive bottle of champagne because the label matched a pair of shoes! Very professional image - I could see this in an ad, and I bet your champagne was better than mine! :-) CJ

not fee = no feet

Its technically an OK image, and I wonder how the glass is not tipping over with the weight of the shoe on it? However, I'm a little bit with Phil on this. It just doesn't shout the extreme puffyness that it should do and you really have a reputation to uphold ;)

Thanks Melanie.

Thanks, Lee, you gave a good chuckle. Thank you, Phil, for the compliment and the honesty. I agree wholeheartedly that the image is contrived, perhaps shamelessly so, but that's where I wanted to go with it. I did try a few shots with the props on a bare wood floor, but the images just didn't speak to me. -Michael

Michael
I am a huge fan of your work - your creativity always makes me jealous.
But, for the first time, I just don't get this one. It all feels too "contrived" somehow (yes, I know that many pictures in these challenges cuold fall under that label, but sometimes more than others).
I wish I could define what it is... but this just doesn't work for me.

Colour is fantastic, though...

Phil

:-) Thanks, Michael, for the reply. I am sure you realised it, but in case of the slightest doubt: I cannot picture you in yellow stilettos to save my life :-) I was more thinking of a better half / daughter / grandmother... whatever...! :-) Compliments again on a top-class composition and photograph. Thanks all for the kind words. Traveller, only one niggle? LOL, you know me, there's a bit of fantasy everywhere. To answer your question, it's the last drop of bubbly...you know, "the last drop" which everything is "good to ...". Yes, Bob, I drank the contents and it was yummy (to the last drop).

Nico, there was no "perchance". I don't have any stilettos in my wardrobe...I just can't walk in heels. Seriously, I had the idea of stilettos and an empty champagne bottle shortly after iso announced the topic. The shoes were an inexpensive thrift store purchase (are they fabulous or what!). When I went to buy champagne for the New Year toast, I saw the color of the label and knew it was perfect. It was pricey but delicious and served double duty for celebration and challenge. The bottle goes into the recycle tonight and on Monday the stilettos go the the thrift store to be sold yet again. -Michael

I have one Niggle....just what is the drop on the otherwise perfectly clean glass? A jewel?, a little of of the bubbly left? Curious...you have a reason for everything Michel.
Best Wishes, Traveller

Fantastic Michael... hope you drank the contents first? Regards Bob

What a masterpiece!
jnconradie06-Jan-2007 21:40
Michael, I have to ask: did you buy these props especially for the Challenge or did you just 'perchance' happen to have such a stunning pair of shoes and a similarly coloured bottle of expensive bubbly 'in stock' in your home, waiting to be used? :-)

It is of course simply fantastic... and a great interpretation of the theme, in my opinion. The reflections are such a nice touch. Sincerest compliments. ~jnconradie
