Colder Than a Witches ... Broom! Redux

Black Forest, CO

Pilot error or broom de-icing failure? Too cold to be flying around, tho, any way you look at it.

OOPS... of course?... must have been that extra scotch I had Mikey? Hillarious... she must have been 'a learner' out of control! Great composition. Regards, Bob

Thanks for the comments to the Redux, Nico, Phil & Bob. Those are the 'witches' shoes and cape, Bob. Truth be told, it was a setup, not a capture ":^). Cheers, -mikey

Woops.. Mikey... have you noticed that the snow is melting? Those rocks were not visible last time I looked. Thought I had better make a comment before it all melted away... Great capture Mikey. ~ Regards Bob

Mikey

I admit I quite liked the first version, but this sure brought a smile... nicely done.

Michael, I am soooo very impressed... the highlight of my day for sure.

I thought when the poor witch flew into the tree in a previous challenge, that one would be hard to beat. But you have taken her to another level... eh... depth...

Superbly conceived and executed. Very funny and lots of blown highlights.

Please send her back here for some recovery in the sunny weather and further lessons on extreme weather flying! :-) :-) Regards ~jnconradie

Thanks, Bruce. I decided to have another go at this, given a bit of overnite inspiration, i.e. sleeping on the broom thang. We did also get a bit of sun this morning, adding to the blown highlights. I metered the 'witch' and the sunny snow pretty much is maxed out. Thanks again, -mikey

Thanks, Nico...for the comment, compliment and the idea. This is one of two hand-made Japanese brooms that my wife brought back from Japan when our daughter was married there to a Japanese boy. I thought she was a bit daft at the time, but it has come in handy once in a while, like now. Last nite when I put it there you could still see a foot of the handle. Cheers, -mikey

Usually, I think of blown highlights as "harsh." But this has a wonderful softness to it. It is nicely opposed to the features of the broom. Nice. -- Bruce

Wonderful, Michael! :-) And I did think hard about the Witches Theme and Blown Highlights... but nothing came to mind. Now I know exactly why: no snow in Africa this time of the year! :-) Compliments! ~jnconradie
