I like this one too! The seed pods add a bit of additional interest and the colors are beautiful. CJ

I like the delicate shadow lines on both, I'm not sure if I have a preference between the two. --Melanie

This is beautiful. I think it's "thirds" enough for me. In any case, it's really an excellent image. Nicely done. Jim H.

Splendid. So beautiful. I like it very much... in spite of whether it is on the "thirds" or not. Lovely colours and composition. Regards ~jnconradie

This is really terrific. I liked the first one, but this really does it for me.

Outstanding in its color, clarity and composition. It may not be an exact 3rd, but would get my vote anyway. shu

Regarding your question, see my entry "Chocolate Parasols" for a contextual view for what this looks like on the tree. Those are, indeed, seeds, carried along the margins of a bract. When in bloom, the bract has not yet formed. The flower is white and very small compared to the size of this bract. Google "Firmiana simplex" for more information.

Well, although the 'balls' (seeds?) do make it a bit more according to the rule of thirds, I still feel it is a centered composition - and - I prefer the lines in Take 1...
