Thanks Mikey, Nico and Melanie. I am drawn to abstracts also and loved the wild purple paint on this building and drain pipe in contrast to the natural red brick of it's more sedate neighbor. :-) CJ

Wonderful piece of abstract work, CJ. I like it a lot. You have a good eye for interesting detail and for composition. 10/10! Regards ~jnconradie

Very cool shot, CJ. I lean toward this one, of the three, being kind of an abstract fan. Good eye! -mikey

Thanks Kiki. This is a portion of the next picture, "Jewel in the Crown", and this is the actual color of the store, and I think it was newly painted. I didn't do much PS to it - a little contrast, noise reduction and sharpening is all. I'll try some of your suggestions if I have time. Thanks again. CJ

Second opinion already :) I would keep the motive and proportions, but tried a few angles. Perhaps rotate it some + add a little perspective..things like that. (And I still like it as is ;)

Very simple but also a strong composition. No doubts as to how the rule of threes is applied here. The contrasts between colors and rough / silky smooth textures is nice. Well balanced luminance.. this doesn't hurt the eye. I would have made the red brick wall a tad warmer, and perhaps kept a couple of discret color imperfections in the purple area also, to increase credibility. For all I know it was newly painted - for real. But the color is veeeery even, so it could also be a PS job. All in all: I like this one. Reminds me of a flag.
