What a wonderful find! I would love to have permission to venture inside the shed... I am sure one would be able to take fabulous shots of old and interesting things. The leaves one the ground are just great - sort of tying together the top part and the bottom part of the shot. Well done! Regards ~jnconradie

Alastair, thank you so much for your suggestion and for taking the time to work with my photo. However, I had already played around with the hue, and changing the color of the car and/or propane tank even more just feels too far from the look of the original shot. So, I think I'll just leave it as is and let the voters decide, as they say. And while I haven't followed your suggestion, I've learned a bit more about hue and saturation, so thanks again.

Hi Mary Anne, I don't think you should remove the image. How about enhancing the purple in PS? I hope you don't mind, but I tried a quick adjustment in PS to see what you could get. I opened the image in CS2, selected the propane tank, and increased saturation by +40 on the magenta, blue, and red channels. Then I ran a Provia action on the whole picture at 60% opacity. Finally I did some shadow/highlight. I posted the result athttp://homepage.mac.com/anorcross/oldtrucken.jp (I left out the g at the end, because the first time I posted this reply it included the picture instead of the link, which is what I wanted. To view the picture, you'll have to add the g, of course)
What do you think? I'll take it down when you've had a chance to have a look.

Alastair, I know that the truck and the propane tank are not a pure deep purple hue, but I thought they were about as purple as some of the other entries. Also, I have to admit that I'm having trouble coming up with purples that fit this challenge. So, I'll gladly remove this photo if it's declared off-topic. And who knows...maybe I'll come up with a true purple before the challenge is over.

Great find Mary Anne, it looks like that old truck is peeking out at us. --Melanie

I like the colors here. I would like a bit more shadow detail in the truck, though. Perhaps you could pull a bit back with a different RAW conversion, or some shadow/highlight in Photoshop. It may just be my monitor, but I'm not seeing the purple here. Is it the propane tank?
