Very good. I'm curious about the lighting, especially since the exposure needed to be 30 Seconds. Overall, an interesting shot that has me wondering what the background is and what the light source is, and what posessed you to hang up four onions. It kind of reminds me of Christmas ornaments when seen this way - Hmmm, now that gives me an idea for later this year - That'll make my wife really wonder :) Jim H.

Oh yeah, I much prefer this background; now the onions look more floaty and surreal. Fishing line and hooks, eh?...I might have to try that sometime :). --Melanie

Thanks, Melanie. I figured if I am not yet ready to present a photo capable of capturing votes, I might as well try to induce a smile or two. But then, has anyone warned you about an engineer's sense of humor?

Actually, it was just an experiment, to see what I could do with the background and the placement of objects. I have restored the original background, and attempted to eliminate (gracefully) the fishing lines and hooks used to suspend these red onions in the air. My first thought was to do this with eggplants. But then I found out how expensive they are.

If in the next 36 hours I can come up with another, better, more pleasing, and on-topic photo, I might delete this one.

Interesting idea Charlie, though I'm not sure the stark black background works for me in this case. And maybe it's just me, but having the same type of object at all 4 points, almost seems to give the same effect as a centered composition would. --Melanie
