Untitled*

Uhhh, I had an idea and it didn't pan out.
Wasn't that great of an idea anyways.
So, instead, this is just the ole' photo-of myself in the mirror...etc.
Sigh.
Hope I come up with a good idea and the time to implement it.
Added note: I decided not to smooth out the wrinkles and whatnot...

I like the birds and feathers floating around your head.

This is so clear eyed, such unabashed facing and meeting of the world by a person...fully a person and unafraid to see and be seen...that this is an impressive capture of the person inside. Best Wishes, Traveller

An excellently done self-portrait... and very nice to "meet" you, mlynn! Well done. Regards ~jnconradie

This is a beautiful self-portrait Melanie! The broach is a nice touch as is what you've done with the background. The entire image has such warmth. One of the best I've seen! shu

Thank you Kiki, Jason, CameraShy, and Olaf, for your kind words. Olaf, thank you for your comment. It feels somewhat poorly finished to me as well; and if I have time (and any ideas) I may try to re-work it. --Melanie (mlynn)

Nice to finally 'see' you - you look strangely familiar, but I cannot put a name on it... On to the photo: I'd like to see some more in the frame, especially at the bottom - I think it would be better balanced that way.

I like this one, too. Straightforward and beautiful. I've always enjoyed your nature photos. The addition of the birds and feathers seems to pull that part of your personality into the photo. - CameraShy09

I love what you've done wth this. The background color sets off your hair nicely, and your eyes look so intense in this shot. On a plain dark background I think it'd be too intense, but what you've done with the birds, the feathers, and the bird on your shoulder give this some great creative flair.

Well even your wrinkles and whatnots are absolutely adorable. Good colors and light.
