I'm with CJ and am loving the play of light and shadow on this piece. As to noise reduction and sharpening, I always do noise reduction as the first thing before any other editing and sharpening as the very last thing. -Michael

Very restful image Mikey. I like the angle of light and the shadows created. CJ

I don't do a lot of NR, so I can't be 100% certain how I usually do it - but I think you might find it better to sharpen *after* running NR - otherwise you potentially sharpen the noise...
As a general rule, anyway, sharpening is always the absolutely last thing I do to any picture, so it ought to apply to NR too...

Thanks for looking so closely, Phil. Got the spot. I sharpened it in PSE4, then ran the Noiseware. Does it make a diff? I noticed the Noiseware has sharpening, too. Something I've learned from these pix is that the black base fabric I used (fleece) *looks like* noise, ha! I've got to get some smooth fabrics for background. Warm fuzzies, ":^) -mikey

It's better, but I'm seeing a few artifacts - did you run the sharpening before or after the NR?
There's also a small pale white dot in the lower right which could do with being removed...

Thanks for the comment, Phil. I ran Noiseware on this one, too. It seems to have smoothed out nicely. A bit of sharpening, too. What do you think? -mikey

A little on the soft side perhaps? (Unless that was the intention...)
