Challenge 77: Single Light Source
The topic of Challenge 77 is Single Light Source. The goal is to use a single light source to dramatically light the subject of your image. You are to explore the interplay of highlights and shadows when using extremely directional light from a single source.
Any subject is welcome, this challenge is about how you light the subject with a single light source. Any amount of post processing on your images is allowed.
OK, someone is surely going to ask if the sun qualifies as a single light source. For this challenge, I don't want to require that the light source be artificial light as I believe natural light to be one of the most beautiful tools at a photographer's disposal. I do NOT see a well lit landscape as on topic for this challenge. However, natural light spilling in from a window or door onto the primary subject can be very directrional and dramatic so I would see such an image as being on topic. I'm open for discussion on the use of natural light, so challenge my preconceptions in the challenge thread in you so desire.
