Gayle, it's actually a birthmark. It's not so prominent in RL, but here, he's paled out so it popped in the contrast. I generally don't touch it up when it appears b/c it's a part of him and something rarely noted in person, and I wouldn't want to send a negative message to him about it by covering it up, so I don't. As you see, after a billion shots of him, this is the first you've noticed it. :) ~ Lonnit

Really cute portrait. It may be my monitor but it looks like half his forehead is bruised, which I'm sure it's not.

Thank you, Michael. I was trying to be very careful about the red tail light not becoming too overwhelming; red can do that. I burned it down a lot so the red wasn't so vibrant, yet kept the richness of it. I am so glad that you appreciated and pointed out that effort. It was a fine line to walk, trying to keep the red without overpowering the portrait.

As for his expression, he's always up to something! LOL! His brain is always going, non-stop. Nothing gets by him. So, with his expressions, there's usually something going on in his head that adds to the expression. You'll never see this kid with a blank expression on his face! LOL! That also makes him a great model, and he loves to model for me. I was taking some test pix of my car to work on my HDR technique, while waiting for them to get in. He jumped over and said, "Take my picture!" and started posing around the car. ~ Lonnit

You have captured a great expression. I do have the feeling that he's up to something :-) I really do like the way you've handled the tail lights/reflectors. They are prominent as background, add lots of visual interest and scream car without seeing much of the car, but remain as background with the portrait still in the spotlight. -Michael

Menacing? Ok, I didn't think it looked menacing, I thought it was a smile! LOL! Hmmm... I recompressed and the image quality suffered. I'll resave and repost. Maybe the smile will be clearer then. ~ Lonnit
