I didn't see the original crop of this but I like it the way it is. It seems nicely balanced. Maybe a bit more left at the top would be nice, but I'd have to see it that way to know for sure. I like the subtle and low-key look and rich dark colors against the highlights. This does make one smile :)

Lovely picture - I agree this crop does it a lot more justice.

I love "yard art" and this is very cute example of it - I want one! Nice composition and lighting and the BG places it in the garden where it belongs. It makes me smile :-) CJ

I like this crop a lot, the flower and worm have become the only subject of the picture and quite charming they are too! ~Sharon

The original crop did not bother me at all, but the square crop seems to fit the round shape better, somehow. It is a beautiful photo with very nice muted color. - CameraShy09

It does work, but somehow the original worked better despite it's feeling of "technically incorrect" crop. I think the original intentionally breaks the rules at a time when rules should be broken. It's lost some of it's happy playfulness in the crop. ~ Lonnit

Thanks Lonnit and Sharon for the feedback. Do you think a square crop will work for this?

Wow, RK, when you shoot round you don't mess around! That's a lot of round knobs and the sun and even the worm are round, well seen! They are charming and I love it that the worm's nose and some of the knobs are shiny from being touched. I like the light in this, not too bright. I agree with Lonnit, you could crop a bit off the top, the tree in the background is a little distracting. ~Sharon

LOL! What a funny looking thing. :) Not sure about the crop with all that extra on top, although lopping it off kills the sense of place. Does make me smile though. I think maybe it's so ugly it's cute! LOL! Whatever, it's adorable and the more I look at it the cuter it gets! I can't stop smiling at it. :D ~ Lonnit
