Hi Cat. It's not really in Martin Scorsese style but it reminds me of it. If you notice in some of Martin's scenes there might be something horrible going on in the background, say somebody being hit, while the main subject will be doing something totally different, say drinking coffee. The kid here is busy playing while the subject is a flower (totally different from him).
