I love this, Victor, and hope it does well in the voting! I didn't notice the bright area until you mentioned it! I think it adds interest to an otherwise very regimented series of columns, like a door into the unknown. Really fine work! ~Sharon

Cindy, I never thought about it that way. I've always liked looking at this road (the new construction that is). I think it has a certain beauty that other roads around town don't have. I really wish I had taken pictures when it was under construction. Some of those scenes were very interesting. -- Victor

You took something rather ordinary and blah and made it fun. Congrats. Cindy

Is anyone bothered by the bright vertical area in the distance? I was at first, but the more I look at the picture, the more it grows on me. -- Victor

Love the curve here. A bit too straight for research though ;-)))

I really like this. Quite different from the usual b/w treatment a subject like this would typically recieve. The repetition pulls you in. Well done!

My last comment before going to work: I am seated on the approximately 40 degree angled slab of concrete leading up to the underside of the pictured overpasses. The overpasses are the elevated section of the new freeway which is still called Research Blvd. That upper level is lit by sodium vapor lamps. In the distance, also on the lower level, is an intersection with Burnet Road. That bright vertical support beam is illuminated by another light, but I'll have to go back to investigate it's relationship to everything else. For most of the light, though, just look at the sharp shadows on the overpass support structures to glean where the sources are. Since this was the middle of the night, all the lighting is artificial. -- Victor

This is great. Is the light all from artificial light that's being reflected by the fog? Jim H.

Great work, Victor. I'm trying to imagine what combination of lighting was at work during the wee hours and this long exposure. You've produced a striking result, whatever it was. .. Lew

Amazing light, color, repetition, perspective and curves - you've captureed it all in this one image...

Wow, stunning shot Victor! I am bit confused about the direction of the light. On the right it seems to have one direction whereas on the left it has the opposite direction. Is the sunlit parts of the left structure due to some kind of reflection?
