ah, i knew it wasn't a bit of cloth as my wife suggested - the colors are great btw.

Thanks Rob. This was taken with the lens set to 5X or very near to that. And the shot is cropped only slightly to get the framing exactly where I wanted it. These are the back edges of the wings of a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly right where they overlap when the critter is at rest. This was a very cooperative subject ;) Jim H.
nice abstract, I know the kind of magnification you can get with that lens, so i would not want to guess what it is. The dark area looks to be organic.
