That's 1500 Watts of RF exciting some argon in a space about the size of your finger. Needless to say, it's hot in there. I think it's over 10,000 degrees C. Just keep the little shield closed and "they" say you're ok :)

For whatever reason, I just love colors in the blue-violet range. Watching this thing run is fascinating and viewing the plasma (through a safety filter and RF shield grid) is mesmerizing. But the darn noise runs me out of there in short order.
