That's only by prescription, right? Guess I'll have to get a dermatologist. :) Thanks ~ Lonnit

Well the DNA is the key...If you want to rub something effective on your face, you should use Retin-A. It erases fine wrinkles, tightens the skin and evens out the pigment. Costs less than most of the "cosme-ceuticals" too.

Phew! LOL! Tanned in my teens but not much in my twenties. Haven't laid in the sun in 10-15 yrs. Annoying older sister made fun of my eyebrows when I was barely a teen, so started plucking early. Haven't really plucked at all in a decade or two. Do other's necks & lips really start going this soon? EW! I'm taking a bunch of antioxidents and using creams with ingredients recommended by Dr Perricone. I've got good genetic though... my mother is 79 and you'd never guess it. I think having kids later keeps you younger too. I only started at 35, so I keep thinking I'm the same age as all the other classmates moms. LOL! Thanks for the eval; do I owe you a lens or something now? LOL! ~ Lonnit

You have professional confirmation. It looks like you used to tan when you were in your twenties but you havent for a while. Your eyes look good though you should stop plucking your eyebrows. Your neck is still tight and your lips are full. Overall, I'd say you are way ahead of the crowd and look damn fine.
Canon DSLR Challenge10-Dec-2005 05:10
LOL! I'll have to keep you in mind then for the face in a decade or so. I don't think I'm doing too bad for 45 right now. Do I get professional confirmation on that? LOL! ;) ~ Lonnit

I don't do the breasteses since I am strictly a facial plastic surgeon. But I'm flattered that you want to show them to me.
Canon DSLR Challenge09-Dec-2005 05:24
Grant - Thanks for the honest eval. :) Ok, so there my 3 favorite shots from a session! LOL! Actually, #3 is my fourth fav, but my third fav didn't seem to fit in as well - um, er.... well.... because it was a different mood! LOL! How funny is that? Maybe I'll switch it out if I can get a chance to upload it. Oh, and yes! - I love Rebekka's work. I put her on my favs list a few weeks ago. I think I may even have discovered her thru your favs list. OOOH - you LOVE me!!! LOL! As for the lines.... hmmmm.... let's see.... I'm supposed to let YOU put me unconscious?!!! I don't know about THAT one! LOL! OTOH, how are you at breast-lifts?

Shu - Glad to amuse you guys. Sorry about getting you stuck on the floor! LOL! Did you use the keyboard wire to pull it down to the floor to type or did you manage to get up? Let me know if you need me to call 911. LOL! Thank you very much for your nice compliments. Or, was that just to butter me up so I'd be willing to call for help? LOL! ;)

Lonnit,

I've been looking at your series for a few days now trying to think of what to say...I am really close to liking this but I think they are too similar to be a series. They look like they are your three favorite shots from a session. I guess I would be more interested if they were more different but linked by the fact that they were all self portraits. I don't think I am describing this very well but here are a few examples of what I am talking about:

These are mostly self portraits:http://www.flickr.com/photos/rebba/sets/1482606/

Here is another frequent selfportrait-er:http://www.flickr.com/photos/solea/sets/250774/

I think you have some good photos and I am only pointing this out to you because you always ask for honest feedback. So this is just tough love.

PS-I can fix those "lines." Let me know.

Oh, Lonnit! Your response to my comments is hilarious! Ed and I just rolled on the floor over "progression" and "Did I?" etc. (Of course we couldn.t get up......LOL) ....BUT, you are still the same beautiful Lonnit in each and every shot and your artwork is fantastic! I especially like #1. The lighting, background, expression, pose all come together in a most appealing way. shu (with Ed lurking on......I mean, "looking on.")
Canon DSLR Challenge08-Dec-2005 05:28
Now, Dorys, that's a double standard, if ever I heard one! LOL!

You know, Armin, you just made me realize that my self portraits - that I post here - are never smiling! You're right! The funny thing is, that, as you know, I'm always upbeat, laughing, having a good time.... and, of course, smiling! So why the long face in my posts? Perhaps age lines? LOL!
Ooooh, look! I did enter one smiley one....http://www.pbase.com/lonnit/image/48275525.jpg. I'll have to do some more smilies for future challenges. Today I was playing with exposure and window light and shot the most hideous series of self portraits. There were some smiles in there - until I saw the actual images! I deleted them all without opening after viewing the thumbnails in Bridge! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Lonnit, did I say "buy" a cow? No, I said he'd HAVE a cow. Big difference. LOL He had a cow when I wanted to do something similar... but come to think of it... he didn't mind his bum being on an album cover for one of the CTF challenges.
arminb07-Dec-2005 21:34
Ok, so that's you?! Hi Lonnit :)
Quite thoughtful expression(s) in your face(s)... a lovely series, but what would I have to do to make you smile more often? I think, it would suit you very well as well :o)
Cheers, Armin

Did there have to be a progression? Nobody said anything about a progression! Did you hear 'progression'? LOL! It's just a simple series... just a set of three Lonnits-by-the-window. They're a series because they are tied together by the fact that they are the same subject, in the same place, at the same time, with the same light - just different expressions. That counts. Doesn't it count? Did somebody say it didn't count? I didn't hear anyone say it didn't count. Does it count? I thought it counts! Am I repeating myself? I didn't mean to be repeating myself. Or did I? Well, I guess I did, but it still counts! LOL! ~ Lonnit
Canon DSLR Challenge07-Dec-2005 05:15
I love this series, but fail to see any progression that would appear to link the images. Perhaps you can enlighten me? The photography is fantastic! shu

Victor - LOL! Which ones - the real ones or some artifacting? I had tried to dodge the shadow, but it actually seemed to look better with it. I faded it back in, with the opacity slider, but only about 85%. It seems to be more dramatic than without it. As for direction descriptives, I always likek to look on the bright side! LOL! Thanks, Victor. ~ Lonnit
Victor Engel07-Dec-2005 02:10
I seem to see the same sort of pattern of freckles as in the other challenge, just higher up. Since you gave me permission to see freckles, that's what I'll do . By the way, I don't particularly mind the shadow on the left. I think it offsets the relative brightness of the left side of the model (from viewer's perspective (starboard -- can you use starboard to refer to the side of a person?) -- I guess I could have just said your bright side) -- Victor

Thanks Lee. :)

Alexieg - Thanks. I'm always smiling. :) This was just for mood.

Dorys - Ohhhhh, my hubby might buy me a cow?!!! I'd LOVE that - I always wanted a cow!! :) You do realize, BTW, that I am holding a sheet, right? It's the same reveal as a strapless top. :) Thanks ~ Lonnit

Great series, beautiful portrait work. * Why such a solemn expression? Smile Lonnit smile
Guest 06-Dec-2005 21:16
Oh Lonnit, very beautiful. My hubby would literally have a cow if I posted something like this publicly.
Canon DSLR Challenge06-Dec-2005 17:17
Thanks Michael. That was one thing that was bothering me a bit. I'll have to go back in and see if there is any slight highlight that I can enhance. ~ Lonnit

Lonnit, this is a beautiful series. Full of thought and very emotive. The lighting is lovely and your b&w technique brings out the best in the light, I love the contrast. You've given the viewer (me) a bit of a window to a personality, a window on the soul if you will. Kudos. (*) The eyes are clearly a very important visual element in all three of these images...I'd like to see a bit more detail (sparkle?) in the eyes if at all possible, but ever so little...dunno if that would add, you'd have to tell me. Again, kudos, it's a beautifully done series. -Michael
