I could not suppress a smile when I saw this picture. The more I looked, the less I could suppress it. So I smiled. Nothing wrong with smiling. It's a great image. I'd like to see the shawl (or whatever it is) not quite so blown, though.

no it's not a small thing like a hair, it's the eye it seems to be a tad cloudy, maybe dodge?

Rob, there was no flash used. It's not a strand of hair across her eye, is it?

Great portrait Gayle, as always your composition is very good. * Seems to be an artefact (clouding) in her left eye (maybe from digital fill flash?)

Beautiful model. I would prefer the scarf to be a tad less bright though

Excellent shot of a lovely model! Reminds me a bit of Angelas self-portrait http://www.pbase.com/cslr_challenge/image/25181474)

Thanks for the comments. Autumn Sky, yes this was shot in window light. My 50mm lens is a bit temperamental...but when it works, it never fails to produce quality shots.
Armin, if I crop some off the bottom then I'd have to crop some off the sides and there's no space there for cropping. With a rectangular pic, I keep it at the native format of the camera, very rarely cropping much at all. It's my own personal "rule" for trying to avoid sloppy composition.

Such clarity... those eyes hold you captive. I like this composition.. I assume shot in natural light, yes? This encourages me to use my 50mm lens more. Bravo.

WOW, what a beatiful shot. The only thing that I would do different - provided I could produce such a lovely shot, which I cannot - I would crop off a little bit of the lower part of the picture to have the eyes slightly lower. ~Armin
