Thank you for your comments.
Jim, I have always admired your image. I had something similar in mind for Gayle's wide angle challenge but my 12-24mm did not arrive in time.
The location is a railway museum in Germany, hence the rusty track. The "mountain" is a small mound nearby.
I must make a confession: The evening sky is from a separate shot, taken from almost the same location, a bit later in the evening. I have merged the two shots in order to replace some ugly buildings that obstructed the view. And yes, Iso, I have added a gradient near the horizon, perhaps a bit too strong. Normally, I do not use PS for anything else than sharpening and color correction, not for effect but for making the image look as natural as my eyes saw it, but here, I simply could not resist. I hope this is okay.

Hey, this is great. I'm flattered that you've chosen this. I really love the great detail in the foreground on this shot. The hardware holding the track down adds a lot to it as does the very nice crushed rock. The hill off to the left in the background intrigues me. It looks like you're heading off into a flat plain with just that one hill rising up from it. Is that a large mountain a long distance from the camera or a small mound up closer? This has me wondering where the location is. I like the way you've gotten the tint to the background :)

This is great. A fantastic copy indeed. I like your F22 everything sharp look. The nuts and bolts are a good detail. Looks like you've added a red gradient to the sky on this but I think its overspilled onto the ground a bit.

I really like both versions of this. The sky you've captured in this copy is spectacular and the show of bolts and screws adds another strength to the image. Bravo!
