Thanks Fly. I only usually notice the equipment I'm coveting! LOL! ~ Lonnit

Not everyone's. But of the regular posters, I would venture that I know what camera model they have. Lens would be a little tougher.

PS. Nice shot and good job.

How do you guys memorize everyone's equipment list? LOL! You know, I really thought twice before I entered that info in the form; I was going to leave it blank just for that reason. So, if you didn't think it was mine, who did you think it belonged to? ~ Lonnit

The camera and lens helps narrow it down. But, my guess was not a Lonnit shot. theFly

SON OF A...... HOW DO YOU PEOPLE DO THIS??? How can you possibly recognize this is mine? It's an split Iso/Angela-Iso-immitation immitation!!! How is that recognized as Lonnt??? You people are unbelievable!! I just don't get it. I really don't get it!! AAAAUUUGH!! It's like we're playing hide-and-seek in a room of two-way mirrors and I'm on the mirrored side and you guys are all on the window side! Freaky, freaky, freaky!!

Couldn't you PS out the curved part? Or your don't like to cheat? LOL! ;) I had to PS in the blackness. The bottom section was a only a little darker than the top rear section, so I had to darken it. Not only did I do the border, but I actually imported Iso's shot to find out the precise aspect ratio and border width. I also did an overlay to get my bear to be the same distance from the top and bottom borders as well. I had to add a bit of space at the top b/c my shelf didn't have enough height. This bear is about 18" tall - but he slouches. He's such a cutie pie and his limbs are filled with beans or something, so he's got some nice weight and his legs swing when you hold him.

When I saw your turned toes, I had to turn mine, but I wanted the other foot turned. Yes, he looked sooo sad sitting there all alone. After I put the books back (which I'd just neated up earlier in the day of course) I popped him back on the shelf. When my daughter went into her room she laughed when she saw him there, picked him up and walked in to me carrying him like a baby. So, he wasn't sad for long. :)

Time? You wouldn't believe how much time this stupid thing took! LOL! I set up the shot and ended up taking 12 frames of him. I was varying the the mm and my distance. I was trying to get the right angle and height. The bed was in the way b/c this is a shelf in a shelf/drawer unit, so he's only about 18" off the floor. I was sitting on the floor and leaning back and sideways to frame it right. The best shot came out crooked so I had to straighten. Here's the original RAW file:

Do you see all the PS work I had to do? It took over two hours just to PS!! I straightened, cropped, then had to lengthen the whole right side. It was such a chore to extend to the right. First I got rid of the vertical seams and then it took me a while to get rid of those highlight areas. It was later that I realized I needed more extension for the aspect ratio and so I had to clone in more to the right. Working with the minute variations in tone was a nightmare b/c you go the slightest bit in any direction and the tone changes so cloning and healing was really obvious. I had to clone-fade-clone-fade-heal a zillion times! Then I resized to match aspect, and created the border. I then monochromed the image. I also used Iso's image to sample the tone color to match. :) After monochroming it, I realized it wasn't actually supposed to be monochrome, it's duotone - blue AND black. So I reworked to get the black in there. After that, I spent about another half an hour on the stupid shelf itsef, b/c of the highlight. The first cloning was so difficult b/c of the angled shadow running across it. I now wanted to remove the brightness b/c Iso doesn't use such harsh light. However, this area was so bright it didn't have enough color to bring it down easily. I tried several methods but none were convincing enough so I faded it down to the best I could accept and quit. I'd had it! Afterwards I realized the bottom of Iso's original was dark and so I darkened it.

Now, this is strange that you should say "You really took the time to get all the little things in this one." I rarely ever stage shots. I shoot candid - the way I found it, 95% of the time. So normally, it takes me no time to get a shot. LOL!

All that said, as much as I love and respect Iso, I'm not Iso, and I don't (read: don't have the talent to) shoot in the same style as he (oh, but wouldn't that be amazing if I could!). So, if it were me having the idea to shoot a teddy on an empty shelf, this is what I would have come up with:

Angela, you're amazing to pick this off as mine! I still don't get how you did it, even with the things you mentioned. You are amazing in many ways :)

See, and you've got the darker bottom, too. I couldn't get that :( My shelf has a curved part underneath it. And you did the border.

Your bear is CUTE! Toes turned in and all. Very sad looking thing. You really took the time to get all the little things in this one to really make it a great "imitation." Sooo... If I were to guess... I'd guess... Lonnit.
