Is that a shadowed reflection of your head, ear, & shoulder on the right side of the image?(WAY cool!!)
I'm going to be brutally honest here (as ususal! LOL!). I thought this one was below your standards. The poor focus and lack of DOF really bother me. You said you repeatedly attempted the image, yet it looks almost haphazzardly shot. I'd love to see you do a retake, with a deep DOF so all the planes are in focus, convert it to BW, and THEN you've got the money shot! As is, it doesn't fulfill it's potential or yours. I'll give you 10 pts for concept though! It was absolutely well seen. :) This has wonderful potential, stepping into the realm of the type of things the BW street masters would do. I'd really love to see it with the suggestions I made. What are you doing at sunset tonight? :) ~ Lonnit

Very cool. It looks like you are outside the elevator, looking though it and through the open doors. Well done! -E
Thanks folks! I was hoping to see some responses when I rolled out of bed this morning. ;)
I was leaving work last night, and as I stepped into the elevator saw *something*. So I got out, pulled the camera, waited for the cab to open again, and started shooting.. Didn't like what I got, so I got out again, and repeated the effort. Kept at it, changing focal lengths, and letting the doors close, until I had something I felt I could live with. ;)
This is great! The number of reflective planes in this photo really do something for the viewer. The only thing I think thta could have changed/made it better would be to have the photographer more centered/silhouetted...but then again, maybe that would be too much symmetry, and maybe It would not be as effective.
Again Good job! As we go along with these challenges, people's work improves. Yours I have noticed improving a lot -- to this one, which I feel is really fantastic! Good luck on the next 50!
Interesting shot Mikel - took me a second to process the context - and I'm still unsure - what is the material on the inside an elevator cab? And what kind of backpack is on your back? - Kelly
