TBH, I hadn't even planned to do this shot - I didn't know what I was going to do.
But I went to pick up my camera bag, and the bear had for some reason been left behind it, sitting on a metal file-box. As picked up the bag, the bear just slowly fell forward off the box, and I knew it was right for the picture.
Unlike Lonnit, I took about 10 minutes on this. It just seemed to work straight off, once I'd got his pose right (he was too upright, and altogether too happy looking at first).

I actually think this is a more endearing image than my original. Your bear has that cuddly quality that would make someone pick him up more readily than my wooden one. Poor thing.

Sell it quick!

A friend of mine just showed this to his girlfriend. She said "I would buy that".
I only wish the original idea had been mine.

Mr. Biscuit?

I wish I could say the turned in toes were deliberate, but that was just luck.

PhilM? Olaf?

Well, the use of 'favourite' should rule out anyone from the states...

Huh! I thought it was Gayle too!

Well whoever shot this, it's wonderful. I think my favorite part is how the bear's toes are turned in toward each other. So sweet.

Naaah, it's not me although I wish it was.
Excellent take on the original!

True enough Mike. Its half the fun guessing.

Now Iso, it could have been a 24-70/2.8L.

To the 'mystery' photographer: You nailed this one. Both an incredibly faithful rendition of the original AND a wonderfullly constructed image on its own.

Earl - thanks, I knew the divide was there but couldn't see it on my monitor until I turned up the brightness. But the fact you could see it - well, it's now gone...

Another GREAT imitation. It captures the spirit and emotion of the original wonderfully.

(*)One nit, I'd clone out the vertical shelf panel divider line to give an unbroken background.

Well done! -Earl Waud

Great title and nicely done. I reckon its Gayle again though. I can't think of anyone else with a 24mm, a 20D and kids toys. He looks equally sad as per my original. Made me smile.
