Thanks, bee! I tried leaving more of the road in but the shadows started getting messy and there were too many other background things going on and I lost the nice simplicity of the forms. You are right the left hand cabin is sort of pinkish, I think there was a red truck parked next to it, if I have time I will go in and fix it. Thanks for your comments! ~Sharon
I think you could have a nice shot by expanding the shot to include more of the road, too. The sweeping curve wrapping around the back of the cabins might look neat. Shot looks nice as is, though. Foreground cabin wall looks pinkish on my monitor, but the others look white. Nit-picking aside, I love the tone of this image - the greens are the perfect brightness to complement the white siding. Wish I could go there and take some pics, too. bee1000
Thanks, Traveller! You have a very good point and I did do one without the road in it. But when I looked at how this came out looking much like a 50's postcard in tone I decided to leave the road in postcard style, despite the fact that these are the backs of the cabins. So, more postcard image, less abstract image. We actually stayed here and when we arrived there was a lone videographer setting up to take some footage of the fronts of these cabins for a dream scene in a movie being filmed in NY now, watch for "Little Children" sometime next summer! ~Sharon
I do like this, I like even better that you had the eye to see the picture waiting to be taken. This has lovely graphic elements, but I would only suggest one thing....realizing that there are a thousand crops in every image...I'd prefer maybe 5% being taken off the right side to remove the asphalt road. Just an idea, the decision is yours. Best Wishes, Traveller
