Ok, now I know where the minimalism thread came from :)
I can't help but have a vision in my mind of another typical DSLR fanatic, taking his camera everywhere with him, and not being able to resist shooting a frame or two while sitting and contemplating life. The guy in the next stall is thinking to himself: "What's that odd noise?".
oh yes, you're right, now I understand the provoking image... ;-) who is the "flickr" goup? sorry, don't know them....

It is a visual commentary on the need to stop world hunger, address African poverty, abolish apartheid, and reverse global warrming.
Or it is a minimalist photo of two ceramic tiles. I forget...
It is vey interesting to me how different the opinions of the Pbase/DPReview crowd are than the flickr crowd. The DPR group seems to favor "pretty picures" that look like they could be posters. The flickr group favors snapshots on the one end and unconventional images on the other. Hmmm...
