Thanks everyone for the comments.. these babies live at my neighbor's house... will see if I can catch them again before they take off.. .don't know exactly how long it takes for them to learn to fly, though.

Really cute! Brings back memories of two swallows I took care of in 1982:

A really fun image, Pedro. Puts a big smile on my face each time I view it. Your choice of aperature is right on, IMHO, as it narrows the focus right down to this delightful trio. -Michael

Oh, man. That is cute. I love the way their little mouths look. This is a true effect of the telephoto lens compressing the beaks to make them look almost like little sets of lips. Darn that's a fun picture!

Ah, future travelers, the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria :-) Fascinating to see youngins like this, with those funky mouths. Nice composition. Markjay

Thanks guys! Actually I got some shots of them with the mouth wide open, even while their mother was feeding them. But those shots are more suited for wildlife magazines... in this shot I like the sympathetic and funny look of these babies...

very cute. Im amazed they dont have their mouths open - the few times I have photographed birds in the nest, they always pop their necks up and open their mouths. :-) (which someone told me is NOT good if you annoy them enough)

Game over. This is great.

Nice one, they look like the litle bird mafia.
