I really like the photo and the colors [aam1234].

Nope, I did not know the topic at the time I was shooting this set of photos. This particular shot caught my attention from the very start.

This is a pretty sponteneous and lively shot. I like the warm tone you have achieved on this one. Looks like you didn't know about the challenge when you took this shot :-) -Cat

Thanks for the comments! The very fiirst thought I had when I was looking at this photo is that it was missing the bottle of booze and slogan froom the lower right corner.

Nice light and textures are beautiful.

I like this shot, but maybe it's just the fact that I can't really see the expression on the drummer's face. I'm left wondering if he's totally fixated on the dancer's undulating rear-end or if maybe he's thinking "Hmmm now I wonder if I left the cat in or out when I left the house."

Hey, the white balance is all off...

Just kidding. I love it. As far as it being off topic, well it does contain both light and shadow, so its fine in my books :-)

I actually don't pay attention to the hit counter, as I only log in with the challenge account to change or add a picture.

You act as if that would stop you. ;)

The absence of comments, without a doubt.

Dorys, if you've not read such a long comment before, you've not been reading mine! LOL! I often post long comments.

Mikel, seems I have broken the ice to allow the comments to start here! LOL! What do you hate more - 69 hits and no comments, or Lonnit comments? LOL! ~ Lonnit

Trust me, she is an incredible dancer, body shape aside. I expect I will clean up and post a set of images from last night in my gallery.
Canon DSLR Challenge15-Jul-2005 22:18
Yes, I figured you'd say that! LOL Belly dancers are supposed to have more to work with .. you know... jiggle and shake.
Mikel Featherston15-Jul-2005 22:01
Too skinny? She looked good from where I was sitting. ;)
Guest 15-Jul-2005 21:58
boy, I've never seen a non-comment as long as Lonnits! LOL

Aside from the belly dancer being too skinny, the shot is technically and visually interesting. The grain adds a photojournalist feel. Like the other comment below, I'm not sure at the end of the day (challenge) if this will be considered as on topic as it should be.

I think it is a wonderful image, but im not certain how well it fits the shadow eliment of the challenge..
Mikel Featherston15-Jul-2005 20:10
I think what he is saying is 'Ow, my hands!'. This dancer gave him a workout. But that *is* an interesting thought...

Interesting again.... 69 hits and no comments. I thought it was a nice image, but I didn't feel compelled to comment. Perhaps that is the problem? It's actually nice, there's really nothing wrong with it (maybe those that are obsessed with BH might find that a bit distracting, but it doesn't bug me) and it seems like it should be considered very good, but somehow it's just not compelling me to write anything about it, positive or negative. Why is this? Why should an image seem like it should be considered good but yet not make one feel anything?

Hmmm... on further examination, I notice this... the musician in the background looks completely bored! I think it send a message to us, subliminal or not, that this image is boring. If he were excited and really into the whole mood, then I think we would catch his enthusiam. Right now he's telling us to be bored, non-plussed, unthrilled with the image. Interesting! ~ Lonnit
